Guemil Icons v20

Guemil Icons v20
Version 20 of Guemil Icons was developed between August and December 2025 by Michelle Müller, Fernanda Pineda, Rodrigo Ramirez, Javiera Vallejos, Samuel Vasquez, and Rocío Molina as an update aimed at optimizing the design of visual information for emergency contexts. This version features a lighter and more refined appearance, along with a technical emphasis on its stencil-based reproduction, thus expanding its uses across different media and situations.
This version reinforces the adaptable and universal nature of the Guemil system, contributing to accessible visual communication in emergency scenarios, thus consolidating its contribution as a tool for the management, education and dissemination of critical messages.
How did we design it?

DEVISE
We generate as many ideas as possible, challenging assumptions and thinking creatively.

CREATE
We build tangible, low-cost representations of the most promising ideas so we can test them.

TEST
We put the prototypes in the hands of users to obtain feedback, learn, and continuously improve the solution.

The first iterations of the Guemil Icons v15 are presented along with the initial explorations that guided the formal and conceptual decisions of the project.

The process continues with the application of craftsmanship to correcting the proposals, refining lines, proportions and formal details to consolidate the quality and consistency of the icons.

A process of formalizing the proposals begins, where the defined ideas are transferred to Illustrator to establish consistent structures, tracing systems, and graphic criteria.

A selection process is carried out for the final icons for v20, choosing according to their relevance and communicative clarity in order to consolidate the final set of the system.

Finishing semester, the Guemil Icons v20 are officially inaugurated, with printing activities and an exhibition that allowed the presentation and sharing of the different applications and versions developed.
